Hurry up and wait.

We are in Dublin! It is currently 1:15 p.m., which would make it about 5 a.m. on the west coast, US. We did a lot of hurrying and waiting, but we're finally here.

Our travels took us from PDX to Chicago, to London, and finally to Dublin. Our coach picked us up and we got a pretty decent look around the city of Dublin. Our hotel is located near the center of the city, which means lots of things to see in walking distance.

The hotel is quaint and comfortable. However, it took a few minutes for us to realize that in order to turn the lights on in the room we had to swipe our key card again like we did for the door. And if we don't keep the card in the slot, the lights go out after about 5 minutes. It took us a while to realize that Dublin wasn't having random black outs.

It was a long journey to get here, so we're resting before heading out to find something to eat.

The long flights got the best of some of us, but we're all in high spirits and ready to begin our adventure! (And to not see the inside of an airplane for a few weeks)

  1. Thanks for the post on your arrival. Sounds like the flights over were pretty non-eventful, just l-o-n-g! Nice to know the volcano cooperated and the spewing of ash ceased :) Enjoy your first day!!

  3. So thankful to hear you got there safe and sound, albeit a bit tired. We fly from Germany to California a lot so we know how tiring it can be. Hope your weather is good. We're really looking forward to more blogs about your trip.
